It might be calm but it still looks like a bad place to go swimming. Last year there was a polar plunge in a river with ice flows like that. I decided to wait and do one in a frozen lake later in the winter. Those ice flows can cut you up.
Tizeye Posted January 31, 2019 Author Share #55 Posted January 31, 2019 Still working on some of the photos, but since this is the last day of the month will post others tomorrow. With the cold snap, in the mid 40's this AM, manatees need warmer water and come into Blue Springs where the temperature is a constant 72 degree year round. An area that tourist typically don't see, Blue Springs State Park just outside of Orlando metro area. They counted over 500 manatee today in the 1/3 mile spring run. Also showing a picture of the spring that dumps out over 1 million gallons of water a day. While I got there about 9AM with no problems, leaving around 11:30 AM and sign up that that stated no re-entry park closed and there was at least a mile long line of cars waiting to get in after enough people left, freeing up parking spaces. That is typical when manatee are running...and don't even think about it on the weekend!
