How Many Felons Are In Your Family?

Currently alive, more than 2.  One hardly counts though as he is now a brain damaged ex multi dui type felon.  2 others are sort of relatives though in the greater extended family way.......by marriage and divorce.  One owes me money, but it's doubtful that I will risk my life trying to get it.

None that I know of, but....

It was 1975. I was driving to the U. of Toronto to complete my master's research - my IIT research advisor had become Chemistry Dept. Chair at Toronto and it was arranged that I would take classes and finish my work at Toronto with a scholarship and teaching assistantship and it would count back at IIT.

So I crossed the border and had to stop at the offices on the Canadian side to get a work permit. I had all the proof of employment stuff, etc. and was given an interview.

One of the questions was, "Were you or any relative of yours ever convicted of committing a crime in Canada?"

I probably should have said no but I brought up an old family rumor, "I've been told that a great uncle of mine was hung for stealing a horse up here, but I don't think anyone can prove it."

My interviewer just laughed and granted me the work permit.

And how many felons do you work with (now or in the past)

About 20 years ago the cops came into work and a rested a guy for 1st degree murder.

With unemployment rate in this town until 2% it's hard to find worker's so sometimes the company will bus in inmates from Milwaukee.

Minus Aire and Tim, most of my friends here in Rochester are felons.  It's the nature of the little cult I'm in.

I don't think any of my co-workers are felons.  But, I haven't asked a single one of them if they are felons.  I don't even know how you would break into that conversation.

My family is clean.

I'm not a felon.

Meep is a bad cat.

AWWC is my new Charlie Fart.

I guess technically not felons since were juvenile...but I was a probation officer. A few were remanded to adult court due to nature of their crimes. Another was a lock picking specialist for father's B&E gang. Another time, as I was shaving getting ready for work the sheriff knocked on my door and had an arrest warrant. Familiar with the paperwork, knew to look 1/3 down and was for an assault, and had my name EXCEPT the middle name was Eugene where mine was Edward. Later, met him as I called the mother of one of the juvies on my caseload and long silent pause as I identified myself. She was living with him. A few months later, again another early morning knock on the door. This time I am being served with divorce papers. We were in our first 2 years of marriage and I look at my wife who is say "Not true, not true." Obviously it was related to my double and probably part of that domestic assault and moving out to live with his girlfriend.

Worked with? When I worked for Lexus, several of my fellow sales people had done time or were actively on probation.

0, 0, and 1.

I did IT consulting work for a small company. The owner mentioned that he spent some time in prison for trafficking drugs. I figured that he was a small timer who got caught. Boy was I wrong! I found out years later that he was the leader of a major drug ring in the St. Louis area. Owned a few aircraft even. He finally got caught when he walked into a restaurant in Florida. A bunch of FBI agents were eating lunch there and one of them recognized him. He got off easy with 7 years by ratting on a bunch of people. Surprised that someone didn't do a drive-by of his business and kill him.
