Prophet Zacharia Posted January 17, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 17, 2019 And eclipsed this weekend. When will it occur in your area? About 9:30 pm to 12:30 am (Sunday night into Monday morning) here. I just hope it’s clear and not snowing! https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/globe/2019-january-21 2

Randomguy Posted January 17, 2019 Share #4 Posted January 17, 2019 I like Petite's thread better. You should try to spruce this one up somehow, maybe talk about razors or somesuch.

Kirby Posted January 21, 2019 Share #6 Posted January 21, 2019 I'm not sure if it's visible here or not, because it's going to be in the single digits and I won't be standing outside to see it.
Airehead Posted January 21, 2019 Share #7 Posted January 21, 2019 I will get up and look out.
MickinMD ★ Posted January 21, 2019 Share #8 Posted January 21, 2019 In Central Maryland the eclipse begins at about 10:30 pm and is in total eclipse at around 11:41 pm and for the next hour. I just took a short trip outside. We have around a 9F temperature and very high winds with a wind chill index of 14 below zero. So I'll go out for a short peak around midnight, but that's it. sheep_herder ★ Posted January 21, 2019 Share #9 Posted January 21, 2019 We are cloudy with temperatures in the 20s and 18mph NNE winds.
Further Posted January 21, 2019 Share #10 Posted January 21, 2019 I just took a peak, moon is huge and bright, shadow just starting to nibble at it.
sheep_herder ★ Posted January 21, 2019 Share #11 Posted January 21, 2019 Just came in from checking for lambs, and the clouds had cleared enough that we were able to see the moon in almost full eclipse at 11:00pm MST. The clouds were moving over the moon as we came in the house.

Longjohn ★ Posted January 21, 2019 Share #15 Posted January 21, 2019 Here’s what I got when I was up loading the furnace. I’m glad I was able to catch it. I won’t have a chance to get a photo of anything this exciting for a Brazilian years.
TrentonMakes Posted January 21, 2019 Share #16 Posted January 21, 2019 All afternoon I watched the temperature drop and listened to the winds kick up. We have a skylight in our kitchen and I joked that maybe we could just watch it through that. As it turned out, that was almost perfect. (It would have been closer to perfect if I'd cleaned the window first) Around totality it was 16 degrees with a WC of -1. The kids and I stepped outside a couple times but we were lucky to be able to do most of our watching from inside.
Prophet Zacharia Posted January 21, 2019 Author Share #17 Posted January 21, 2019 I went to bed at 9:30 and missed the whole thing. And while I thought I’d be sorry, I’m not sorry.

And while I thought I’d be sorry, I’m not sorry. I feel like it's a cool thing to experience, but I knew this morning's online photos would be better visuals than anything I saw with my own eyes (which of course they were). And I'd be a lot perkier today if I hadn't stayed up till midnight. Our kids were still in bed at 9:30.
