I was very nearsighted when young and my eyes, as they do when they age, are becoming more farsighted.

So, right now, I have much better distance vision than I ever had in my life.

But I can't read tiny print anymore without a magnifying glass.

? Clean glasses so you can actually see your partner?

I got my first corrective eyewear twenty years ago at age 45. I went straight to bifocals and although my prescription has changed a bit since then, when I dig out my first set, I can still read normal print just fine.

 To this day, I still don't have a restriction on my driver's license, and for many activities, such as typing on my laptop as I am doing now, I do just fine without my glasses.

My first set of prescription glasses was around when I was 50 yrs.  It's only in past 5 years, I have light progressives.

I consider that incredibly good eyesight for so long.  I make sure I wear  proper sunglasses especially the reality of cycling a lot.

I got my first glasses after entering the US Air Force. I thought my eyesight was normal. That explained why I had started striking out a lot more playing baseball and had to move from the outfield to first base.

Like MickinMD, my eyesight is getting better as I get older, but not nearly enough.
