Wilbur ★ Posted February 9, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 9, 2019 If you do, and you are blending spices for tandoori chicken, do not touch your eye before washing hands. Don't ask me how I know.. 2 1

groupw Posted February 9, 2019 Share #8 Posted February 9, 2019 Put the rub on the brisket last night. Washed my hands 3 times before rubbing my eye and still had a salty sting!
Longjohn ★ Posted February 9, 2019 Share #9 Posted February 9, 2019 “Do you use a pestle and mortar?” Heck no, what do I look like a farm assist?
ChrisL Posted February 9, 2019 Share #10 Posted February 9, 2019 My mom had one for making sambal. She only used it for that as I’m sure if you used it for anything else it would be hot. One of my sisters ended up with it. It was a wedding gift so travelled from Indonesia to Holland to America. It was slick & smooth from decades of use.
JerrySTL ★ Posted February 9, 2019 Share #11 Posted February 9, 2019 Yes. Max the doggie wouldn't take his pills so we'd grind them up and stir the powder into some wet dog food.

Don't ask me how I know.. I just watched a cooking show where they used them. Of course, we chemists use them so often that we know the pestle is truly pronounced peshtle and it's the part you hold in your hand and grind with.
