Popular Post maddmaxx ★ Posted February 16, 2019 Popular Post Share #1 Posted February 16, 2019 Has joined the A-Main Hobbies and Bicycle business. That's the email waiting for me this morning. I assume that means that Nashbar was purchased by A-Main from the dying Performance business. I am previously familiar with A-Main from my dealings with the Hobby Industry as they are a very large online store for RC products. They also have a brick and mortar store front in California along with one of the nicer RC racetracks in the country. Their prices were very good and their service was excellent. A couple of years ago I became aware that they had a bicycle division. If their level of service in the bike business matches their RC business this could be a good thing for the former Nashbar. 4
Kzoo Posted February 16, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 16, 2019 Performance sent out the same email. Looks like they have been purchased together.
maddmaxx ★ Posted February 16, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted February 16, 2019 Very interesting. A-Main's bicycle business was pretty high end if I remember properly. https://www.amaincycling.com/ and the hobby division I'm familiar with. https://www.amainhobbies.com/
JerrySTL ★ Posted February 16, 2019 Share #4 Posted February 16, 2019 I got the same email from Performance. Performance and Nashbar were under the same company plus a few other brands. Last week I ordered a bike from Nashbar. There wasn't much of anything on their web site except for bikes. Not even pedals or water-bottle cages. Felt like a going-out-of-business sale.

There specials and clearance are not as good as they used to be but a much better selection on panniers. Good prices too. I’m not going to spend anymore time there right now or I’ll end up spending money.
