We took my FIL there, never went before. It was pretty cool. Took the tour, wandered around the bridge. Well worth the trip!

Razors Edge ★ Posted February 17, 2019 Share #14 Posted February 17, 2019 I would have answered the Queen Mary too, but Petite beat me too it. Funny I was pushing the Queen Mary 2 the other day to Parr8. I wonder how seaworthy the QM is? Do they periodically take it out for a spin? KrAzY Posted February 17, 2019 Share #15 Posted February 17, 2019 I believe that's the Queen Mary, I got to live on that boat for 3 days about 7 years ago. It was October and we went through their big Halloween maze.. it was awesome!

Cunard didn’t want the Queen Mary used as a sea going vessel any longer so part of a condition of sale was they had to take the boilers out. It’s also surrounded by a rocks so although it’s still floating no vessel can get into or out of its berthing space.

We took the tour that goes down into the engine rooms, where the boilers were etc. that’s where they do the mazes now. It was kind of creepy down there with lights on!
