Ralphie ★ Posted February 23, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 23, 2019 Catchiness really seems to make them lodge there in the old brian. One of my all-time favourites was from an article subheading in Car and Driver, probably from the 80s. It was on Ford's attempt to Europeanize its cars like the Granada or somesuch. Ford take aims on Europe, hits Kokomo Indiana instead :D

As a child, I found a kernel of seed corn at the West Side Market. I brought it home and planted it despite predictions that it wouldn't grow. It grew, and I later ate some of the corn. It was fun.

Also as a small child, a kitten walked into the backyard and it was a cause of great excitement. In addition to that, I saw a praying mantis and I got scared, also as child.

Dirtyhip Posted February 23, 2019 Share #12 Posted February 23, 2019 I remember driving my VW BUG very fast one evening. It was my first car. I hit like 65 and the car felt like it was going to fall apart. I slowed down after that. 1
team scooter Posted February 23, 2019 Share #13 Posted February 23, 2019 My random memory was sparked by the Monkees in the news. When I was little, my dad scolded me for playing outside in the rain puddles and told me to come inside. So I changed my clothes and turned on our huge black and white TV set and sat down to wait for the tubes to warm up. At the same moment the picture finally appeared, my father walked in the room. The Monkee's TV show was on. He watched it for a few moments then became enraged that I was using his electricity to watch such nonsense. He told me to turn it off and go play outside.
