JerrySTL ★ Posted February 24, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 24, 2019 That's what we had last night in the St. Louis area. Woke me up a few times. It's still blowing pretty hard in the mid-20s.
BuffJim Posted February 24, 2019 Share #3 Posted February 24, 2019 Ours is coming in a few hours. I am gravity enabled, so it’s gonna take quite a blow to knock me down. 1
BR46 Posted February 24, 2019 Share #4 Posted February 24, 2019 I seen the neighbors garbage can go flying through my yard a little while ago. Should be at your house in about 27 minutes. 1
team scooter Posted February 24, 2019 Share #5 Posted February 24, 2019 Listening to the wind and the snow dust blasting the side of the house is giving me chills. I changed to my thick fleece house pants and pull over sweater and I'm still cold. Next I'm digging out the big thick wool socks. Even Maggie doesn't want to go outside to chase the birdies. petitepedal ★ Posted February 24, 2019 Share #6 Posted February 24, 2019 Here too...we didn't get much snow, just 2 or 3 inches..but south of us... like Nicko and his family..got more snow..We have blue sky 13 degrees and the wind...gusts up to 50mph At 3AM (when I couldn't sleep) I went on line...and MNDOT had closed Interstate 35 from about 40 miles south of the Twin Cities to Iowa .... BuffJim Posted February 24, 2019 Share #10 Posted February 24, 2019 74 mph here in Buffalo and Niagara Falls. I went over to the river. Not sure my pics are very dramatic, but it was pretty wild. Land mass on the first picture is Canada.

MickinMD ★ Posted February 25, 2019 Share #21 Posted February 25, 2019 I just watched an episode of The Orville I had recorded and at the end wondered what the weird sound was - it was a gust of wind passing my window, so I guess we're getting wind too: the temp has dropped 20 degrees F in the last couple of hours. Kirby Posted February 25, 2019 Share #26 Posted February 25, 2019 The wind just kicked up here, and it's making me nervous. They had predicted heavy rain, which didn't really happen, so I was hoping the wind would miss us too - but no such luck.

Kzoo Posted February 25, 2019 Share #28 Posted February 25, 2019 The wind has started to slow down here. Daughter#2 was one of the first to lose power on W Michigan. They had hers back on in an hour. Since there have been 2 more outages in her neighborhood- both missed her. We live on an intersection. Everything across the road north for a couple miles went out early afternoon soon followed by everything across the road to the east for 5 miles (according to the outage map). maddmaxx ★ Posted February 25, 2019 Share #35 Posted February 25, 2019 Here in treeville it finally happened. One of my larger sticks went down in an especially heavy wind gust. The tree was already dead and must have been pretty rotten inside as it broke up on landing......which by the way was in exactly the opposite direction of falling on my house. Oh well, chain saw practice in the spring.

Just toss it out in the woods for other critters to enjoy - slugs, roly-polies, centipedes, they will love you.
