Ah.  That explains it.  I was in the scouts in the 50's.  By the time the 60's rolled around I was learning songs about a different country.

Wasn’t your version called Scouting Canada? Maybe that was later, like in the 70’s.

I remember as a young teen being given a camo covered helmet from someone who had just returned form 'Nam.  On the side was a very dark poem that I wish I had remembered the words.  This would have been about '68.  There were some words in those verses that the mother of a 13 yo wouldn't allow him to say.
