So do you log onto your computer with an administrative account?

On the Windows machine I usually don;t, and this stupid Pale Moon browser I recently started using can't do updates then because it has no admin rights.  I've never noticed that problem with Firefox or IE.  I just went to Windows Updates and kicked them off and it smartly made me enter the admin credentials.

Windows I usually log in as a normal user then run things as Admin as needed.

On my work Unix machines I log in as myself then sudo su - to root as needed. I try to stay out of root so that I don't mess up things.

Just yesterday one of our SAs did something like this as root:

cat access.log /dev/null

Lots of things stopped working properly.
