dinneR ★ Posted March 22, 2019 Share #3 Posted March 22, 2019 16 oz. 12 is not enough. 20 gets too warm. 16 satisfies Goldilocks. 2
Randomguy Posted March 22, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted March 22, 2019 In Venezuela, it was about 8 ounces. Heat and humidity caused problems. A pint seems about right, cold enough at the bottom if you are taking your time. 24 ounces in a pre-frozen mug it the largest practical size, I think. It stays pint-like that way. Prophet Zacharia Posted March 22, 2019 Share #5 Posted March 22, 2019 I like the imperial pint at 20 oz. But maybe I drink fast.
dinneR ★ Posted March 22, 2019 Share #6 Posted March 22, 2019 Will climate change have an effect on the optimal beer size? Should we start drinking more smaller beers as temperatures rise?
JerrySTL ★ Posted March 22, 2019 Share #7 Posted March 22, 2019 It's not the size that counts. It's how good it is. At least that's what I tell WoJSTL.

I think 12 is fine if you are at home or near a cooler stocked up, but a 16oz pint is best overall for a restaurant where you wait for refills or what not or at a ballpark where you would need to leave your seat or get the beer guy to come by. MickinMD ★ Posted March 22, 2019 Share #11 Posted March 22, 2019 It depends. If you're drinking beer with no food, 12 oz. works for me. If you're drinking beer with food, 20 oz. - and you're going to need at least two if you're using it to wash down the spices from steamed crabs. The entire tour caravan was parked in our hotel parking lot, and there was a lot of commotion in the hotel. Ralphie ★ Posted March 22, 2019 Share #14 Posted March 22, 2019 I really dislike the 8-13 oz sizes that many bar restaurants have for more spensive and higher abv beers. And lots of microbreweries seem like 12 oz instead of 16 as the beer gods intended.

Tasted heavenly from a keg at college.
