FB post is down. Now I have discovered that he's tweeted the same content to my city council and mayor and numerous TV and print media. I've asked twitter to suspend his account. Outcome TBD.

I would make sure you contact your local police.  Guy sounds like a psycho.

Police have been notified. And I'll have a security escort when I depart tonight,

Damn, totally sucks that you have to put up with this crap.  Know you can't post much but any idea why this guy is going off like this?  Mistaken identity or anything?  Were the police familiar with him?

I don't know this guy at all, never met him. Never heard of him. And I doubt my boss has ever had any contact with him, either, despite the theories of the often mistaken @Razors Edge!

I don't know if the Police are familiar with him, I've got a meeting soon to find anything more out.

I haven't had anything libelous.  I bet it's a bitch to deal with.

Someone copied my cousin Linda's Facebook page including the main photo. I understand this kind of fake page stuff goes on a lot and Linda was probably picked because she has a couple hundred Facebook friends. I was doing something on my laptop - not on Facebook - when a window popped up saying Linda wanted to be my Facebook Friend. I was sure Linda already was a Facebook Friend but agreed to the friend request.  Then I thought I better check it out.  Sure enough. there was a slight difference in the URL for Linda's real Facebook Page and that of the fake page.

Within minutes, I got a message from the fake Linda, telling me she had won a bunch of money in a contest and she saw my name on the list and I should call a certain phone number.

Virtually positive it was a fraud, I asked "Linda" how her brother Tommy was doing - he had died just a couple months before.

The fake Linda said Tom was fine, revealing she was a fraud.  I told her she was a fake and then looked up how to report a fraud and did so.

The fake Linda site was down within a few minutes.  I was glad I screen captured the site and some of the texting so I could forward them to the real Linda, otherwise it was all removed, including her comments on my page:

I think if the post had been put directly on my FB page or tagged me directly, or had interfered with my Facebook experience, it would have been taken down immediately. But since it just used my full name without linking to my account, Facebook didn’t really care. It took 30 hours after the first complaint for it to be taken down.

Twitter told me his posts didn’t violate their user rules. So apparently he deleted the tweets himself. Possibly after the police talked to him.
