I admit it. We in PNW like to give Californians a hard time (who doesn't?). But there are some amazing tangerines coming out of there right now. I bow to the Bear. I love the Sacramento Valley at this time of year.

Being gay in Scotland may be a problem but you'll be fine in California, sir.

Not at all my good Sir. We are inclusive to a fault over here and welcome all and sundry to our fine country. That said.......you may experience a few problems but nothing that can't be resolved I'm sure.

Where did you meet him?

I was his mentor for many years when he was but a callow youth. I do take credit for making him a sophisticated man of the world and for teaching him how to use a fork and knife. That man owes me everything....he lived his whole life in dungarees before he met me but chooses to forget how I moulded him into the silver-tongued charmer he presents as today.

I regret nothing............sob.

...if this person did not already exist, we should have been forced to invent him.:)

That's it.....go on with the smart remarks you uncaring rascal and leave me to moulder over here unwanted and uncared for while you pursue your gilded existence. :(

...the citrus trees are all going into flower now.  I've spent the last couple of days getting off the last of the fruits and cleaning up with some shaping and pruning of the trees.  When you grow up where I grew up, on the mean streets of the nation's capital, having access to fresh orange juice is a luxury.  The juice is Vegan, gluten free, high in C vitamins, local, free range, and delicious.  WE have a couiple of citrus and fruit pest invasions here right now that don't seem to affect my fruit or trees, but the state Ag guys come through periodically admonishing me not to export any fruit from my yard, and putting up insect monitoring traps.

I'm gonna go outside and grab some kumquats before they're all gone.

...I would send you some fruit, but the state Ag guys are watching my every move now.

No.......that's fine....no problem. It all sounds so wonderful and exotic and so different from my sad existence over here. I'm now going to cheer myself up by having a pee and then make myself a fried egg sandwich.....sigh.

What the hell.......do you mind. I mean I'm opening up my heart here and you're all discussing bowel movements. :o

Please accept my apology.  It's what I do. If I can't talk sex or politics, that leaves coffee, weather, and bowel movements.  I realize this flies in the face of you highly cultivated and sophisticated folk but I feel a genuine responsibility to keep you grounded and remind you of your apelike qualities -- that you gents across the pond like to stuff inside. Think of me as holding your ass to the toilet seat (fire).  In the long run, you'll be better for it.
