Popular Post sheep_herder Posted April 14, 2019 Popular Post Share #1 Posted April 14, 2019 My photographer is traveling, and it was too cloudy and windy for me to go south and take waterfowl photos. In the last photo, Duke's and Tag's attention were shifted due to antics of the lambs that come into the back yard to eat out of the sled. 11
Kirby Posted April 14, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 14, 2019 They are adorable! I almost feel like I can touch the lambs in the first pics. Thank you for posting them!

Digital_photog Posted April 15, 2019 Share #4 Posted April 15, 2019 I see in the second picture a black and maybe a tan colored sheep. Do the breeds you raise have many colors or are most white? We picked out lambs not only for body conformation but also for wool color and texture. Crimp, length and color were all considered. I realize that when you are raising mainly meat sheep the traits you look for are different than when you are selecting breeding stock for a heritage wool breed. The hair sheep come in many colors and many have spots. The Lincoln wool sheep are black, white and anything in between. Here is an example of sheep from the two breeds. I think you will be able to tell the difference in the few Lincolns mixed in with the hair sheep.

Snow is all gone, and they are warm today. The hair sheep have begun to shed their undercoat, so the look pretty ragged.

Digital_photog Posted April 15, 2019 Share #10 Posted April 15, 2019 I have a friend in Michigan looking for a few hair sheep. Do you deliver to Michigan?
