I know they claim this to be an absinthe pig pitcher but how do we really know it's not a chamber pot.

I suspect it is a ceramic chamber pot they wanted to add value to by tagging the absinthe label to it. There is such a ritual to preparing absinthe and it doesn't require a pitcher...perhaps a glass fountain to dribble it over the slotted spoon into the glass, but not a pig pitcher.

There are special absinthe water pitchers and even a water fountain to properly add the water to the drink.
