12string Posted April 26, 2019 Share #5 Posted April 26, 2019 When we built the addition, the upstairs bedroom has a cathedral ceiling, so I left the are over the master bath open and accessible from the walk in closet. I scavenged one of those from a real library to access the storage space without blocking clothes racks
ChrisL Posted April 26, 2019 Share #6 Posted April 26, 2019 Living in earthquake country my first thought was oh a bookcase brace! But yeah looks stupid...

I scavenged one of those from a real library to access the storage space without blocking clothes racks In our bedroom, we have a sloping ceiling going from 8' (outer) to 16' (inner), and there is a "shelf" on that inner wall that runs about 20' long and 2' deep from the 8' lower to 16' top. Anyway, that's wasted space that needs dusting once in awhile, but I had thought of using it as a huge bookcase. BUT, books get dusty too, and the wife didn't like the idea of climbing a ladder for books.
JerrySTL Posted April 26, 2019 Share #9 Posted April 26, 2019 The ladder needs rollers so that it can slide back and forth like at a real library.
