MickinMD ★ Posted May 20, 2019 Share #1 Posted May 20, 2019 For the 2nd day in a row it's reached 91F at my house with Baltimore's usual very high humidity, but there's a nice breeze today. If I turn the air conditioner on it will be for dehumidification purposes. Come on, Tuesday and Wednesday!
Razors Edge ★ Posted May 20, 2019 Share #2 Posted May 20, 2019 Is this a new fangled diet? Are you also wearing a black garbage bag to really get a good sweat going? Remember, water weight loss is not weight loss.
jsharr ★ Posted May 20, 2019 Share #3 Posted May 20, 2019 I have used the air conditioner but I have not run my sprinkler system this year.
maddmaxx ★ Posted May 20, 2019 Share #4 Posted May 20, 2019 Having lived in Key West and VA Beach/Norfolk back in the days before everything was air conditioned including cars I wouldn't bother at all if the family didn't threaten me. There are places much hotter and more humid. Kuala Lumpur for example has an average high of 89 in december. Vientiane averages 94 in april. TrentonMakes Posted May 20, 2019 Share #5 Posted May 20, 2019 I feel bad... apparently it's getting pretty warm in our house today, while I'm nice and cool at work. Our AC at home is still in winter mode, with all vents closed and plexiglass over the main cold air return. All these things are in the ceiling and I wonder how hot it will have to be in the house before my wife gets out the step stool....

When I was stationed at Ft Myer the patrol vehicles had AC but my 83 Ford Escort didn’t. Oh man driving in the summer in that thing was brutal. We also had a few power outages in the barracks and the rooms would get stifling pretty quick.
ChrisL Posted May 20, 2019 Share #7 Posted May 20, 2019 May & June are not warm months in SoCal but it’s been cooler than usual lately. I actually went to my car to grab a fleece jacket! It’s chilly in my cave.
Road Runner Posted May 20, 2019 Share #8 Posted May 20, 2019 Turned mine on yesterday for the first time this year. In the 90's yesterday and today. I can take the 90's, but the humidity is the killer.

My first duty station for school was in Key West. The weekend I arrived the guys invited me to play some B ball. The gym had typical Key West air conditioning.............all the outside doors were wide open to let the breeze in. I thought I was going to die. 2 years later when I left I was accustomed to sleeping with a blanket year round and temps in the 60's were unbearable. One adapts.

dinneR ★ Posted May 20, 2019 Share #12 Posted May 20, 2019 I don't have AC. We woke up to more snow. Chain law in effect on the pass. Ski season continues.

That looks just like here except for the trees and the mountains and the snow.
