Dottleshead ★ Posted June 13, 2019 Share #4 Posted June 13, 2019 No. Carmel-by-the-Sea is an amazing place. 3 bedroom homes a couple blocks up from the beach is going to run you in the neighborhood of $8 million dollars though.

MickinMD ★ Posted June 14, 2019 Share #12 Posted June 14, 2019 I've always wondered: if the beach has pebbles instead of nice, smooth sand, why advertise the fact? It's like the Danes who discovered Iceland naming it "Iceland." It's amazing anyone wanted to move there. When Eric the Red found a huge island full of almost nothing but ice, he named it "Greenland" to attract settlers and most of the world's real estate people have been following his example ever since! Our mountains are mostly granite so our beaches are fine granite sand. NorCal does get more river stones deposited on the beaches than we do though so it could have to do with that. Dottleshead ★ Posted June 14, 2019 Share #15 Posted June 14, 2019 It's also on the fringes of Monterey Bay. And 5 miles south in Carmel, it's all sand.
