Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted June 29, 2019 Share #1 Posted June 29, 2019 Son has a spot on his left knee that’s becoming infected. The minute clinic sent him to the ER. We’ve been here for an hour. Waiting on a doc to look at his leg now. He’s got the gown on that’s open in the back. He won’t let me take pictures 1 1

Dottleshead ★ Posted June 29, 2019 Share #5 Posted June 29, 2019 This thread kind of scares me. I have some kind of bite/infection on my Achilles. Might even be some plant I am allergic to.

Pretty bad when a 'vegan' is allergic to a plant.

Doctor said skin infection, cellulitis. IV antibiotics with oral to take home. They’re going to take blood for testing and start the IV. Should be home by 1:00, but that could be wishful thinking. Dr wants him to return on Sunday to check his progress

Page Turner Posted June 29, 2019 Share #12 Posted June 29, 2019 ...the ER's here on Friday and Saturday nights are epic. By far the best circus is over at the UCD med center. At least at that one you have a better chance of seeing someone who actually works in house, though. So you don't get the separate bill from the contract physician who is the treating doc at most of the other ones. Those guys are invariably out of network. Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted June 29, 2019 Author Share #13 Posted June 29, 2019 Blood work and X-rays are underway. The nurse who took his blood was born same day as So7.

Popular Post The_Karen_Cooper_Incident Posted June 29, 2019 Popular Post Share #16 Posted June 29, 2019 I'm glad you took him in. Back in 09, I was bit by a mosquito. It was epic fodder at Foo at BF. Anyway, I had a good case of MSRA; possibly picked up from my father who had it at a nursing home. But, it started at the mosquito bite so who knows. One of the doctors tried blaming it on a tattoo. Naturally, I'm WAY smarter than that doctor so she was wrong. It sounds like you caught it early, which is good. I had a bad reaction to sulfa antibiotic along with the MRSA. I don't want this to scare you because this is not likely your situation but body went into shock and I was in the hospital for four days. As a result, I detoxed from alcohol for the first time, which didn't last long. I was drunk the day I got out. But, there was a hot nurse there and we went on a few dates after my visit. This was before Tude. Tude rules. She bought me food today. Anyway, the hot nurse was awesome. I started to realize I had a drinking problem. I think AWWC accidentally hit on me at Foo before he realized I was a dood. Then his pinning became even more outrageous. I found him odd. If there is a point to this story, one little mosquito took down a 200 pound 6 foot 1 Norwegian man in his prime. I was in incredible shape, and even had a six pack stomach. My hair was long and blond, which naturally attracted AWWC. I wish you well. Your son is in good hands. I hope he meets a hot nurse. Keep him away from AWWC. Shu Fang /Edit/ -- That was the second time I detoxed from booze. I detoxed on the floor of the hospital when my father had a stroke. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes -- alcoholism is fun. 1 1

Make sure you wash your hands periodically in there, hospitals are full of sick people and their germs are everywhere.
Popular Post Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted June 29, 2019 Author Popular Post Share #18 Posted June 29, 2019 Follow up report - it was cold in the room and we had two hours to wait for the IV drip so I went out to the Jeep and slept for 45 minutes. Get back and the IV is almost done. When the nurse returned she had the discharge papers prepared including Rx for more antibiotics. We got out of there at 3:00 am. Went to the 24 hour pharmacy nearby but their system was down for maintenance. We dropped off the script and went home to bed. Four hours of sleep and I’m back at work. Doing Saturday coverage at the credit union then the LBS from 1-6. I will sleep in tomorrow. Son is doing better, the young heal quick. 8
