Ralphie ★ Posted June 15, 2014 Share #1 Posted June 15, 2014 I worked WAY over my usual allotment today. Got the back of the house and the patio and patio furniture washed, and did a shitpile of weeding. Then bought a new battery and the stupid car STILL won't start. Charging it now - it has a 2/14 sticker on it, and it made nary a spark when connected.
KrAzY Posted June 15, 2014 Share #2 Posted June 15, 2014 might be the alternator giving you a problem
Ralphie ★ Posted June 15, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted June 15, 2014 might be the alternator giving you a problem Possibly, but that wouldn't cause a brand new battery to give nothing more than a click when trying to start the car.
kingtermite Posted June 15, 2014 Share #4 Posted June 15, 2014 Alternator shouldn't keep it from starting...just from running very long after it started.
kingtermite Posted June 15, 2014 Share #5 Posted June 15, 2014 I think you should edit the config.sys.
KrAzY Posted June 15, 2014 Share #6 Posted June 15, 2014 on one of my older cars, if I wanted the engine to turn over... I had to smack the alternator with a hammer.. it only clicked when I tried it also
Ralphie ★ Posted June 15, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted June 15, 2014 After a charge and a wiggle of the battery cables, it started. Why do battery cables always run out of bolt?
