jsharr ★ Posted July 18, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 18, 2019 We were big time Sears people when I was a kid, so I know I rocked some of these bad boys back in the day? Discus.
Prophet Zacharia Posted July 18, 2019 Share #2 Posted July 18, 2019 I wore tuff skins as a kid in early grade school. Not as proudly as that kid, though.

In 9th or 10th grade I had a suede vest that was sheepskin lined, a big buckle, western belt, a cowboy hat (albeit straw) and boots. "Ropers" was a cliche when I was growing up. Most of the jocks were also either ropers or socials or both, I was all three. Levis 501 was my jean of choice back then, but as a grade school kid in Oklahoma I was not label conscious and wore whatever mom bought.
TrentonMakes Posted July 18, 2019 Share #4 Posted July 18, 2019 I'm sure I had Toughskins at some point. I also wore Skips sneakers for many years but I think they came from Montgomery Ward. I remember the way the zigzag-tread sole curved up along the toe.
ChrisL Posted July 18, 2019 Share #5 Posted July 18, 2019 My mom bought my brother and I Toughskins when we were young. We still tore them up but the knees held up. From middle school on we pretty much wore 501’s and shorts to school. If we dressed like that kid we’d get our asses kicked!

In SoCal, especially Orange County beach towns Vans were pretty much the shoe of choice. We all wore them but they were still a small shoe company then. Oh and they only came in blue, white & red.
