late Posted July 19, 2019 Share #6 Posted July 19, 2019 We tried that once in the 80s, didn't like it. That's freeze dried food for backpackers. When you want better than freeze dried, you need a Bake Packer. I've made pizza, pancakes and simple cakes with it. https://www.rei.com/product/401152/bake-packer-ultra-lite

Zephyr Posted July 19, 2019 Share #12 Posted July 19, 2019 Bought it a year or so ago for a backcountry canoe trip. Chocolate and strawberry tasted right, but D-hip nailed it. Chaulky. Really weird texture

Really weird texture All this talk of chalkiness is reminding me of some candy that tastes chalky but in a good way, and it is driving me crazy that I can;t think of it. Actually I think it may be me Lucky Charms, or better yet, the generic mono-flavored "vanilla" ones that I haven;t seen in a while. The "marshmallows" have this intriguing chalky texture that is pretty darn good! In the interests of avoiding sugar though, I should not investigate this like of inquiry any further. Got that, brian? STOP IT! :D
