Popular Post Further Posted July 21, 2019 Popular Post Share #1 Posted July 21, 2019 I went jogging this morning, the heat wasn't too bad but the humidity was through the roof. I stopped at all water places, drinking fountains & the restrooms with running water, and soaked my hat & shirt, felt good for about a minute, no evaporation at all going on. Jog / walk about 3 miles. The highlights are that there was much more jogging than walking And, there is an access road to the lake that has about a 1/4 mile steady, fairly steep grade to it. I've been trying to run up it since I started this foolishness a few months back. At first it was walk most & run a little, then run more than walk, then stop in the middle to let the pain subside but run the whole thing. Today I ran the whole thing, no break, plenty of pain. groupw Posted July 21, 2019 Share #3 Posted July 21, 2019 25.6 @17.1 .. Had planned to ride with my son in Lincoln this morning, but the weather was a no go. We had brunch instead and drove home. It started clearing up not long after we got home. The heat spell broke last night. Sounds like we will have a few pleasant days anyway.
Razors Edge ★ Posted July 22, 2019 Share #4 Posted July 22, 2019 I told my wife I would wait to go for a ride until it started cooling off. Around 5:30, the thermometer showed 102o, about five minutes later, it was down to 101o, so I did a quick change, and headed out for a ride. Added an extra mile past my normal turnaround spot so I could refill both my bottles. While filling, I heard thunder. The ride how was a wild one as the storm was coming faster than I was riding, but the tailwind was very helpful. Just beat the actual rain and lightning. 31 miles.
ChrisL Posted July 22, 2019 Share #5 Posted July 22, 2019 Pitched a softball game. It was in the low 90’s. We sucked today and got shelled but it was still fun.
