Randomguy Posted July 21, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 21, 2019 Caveat: I don’t want a dried out piece of bread jerky, either, just lightly toasted on the outside and moist on the inside.

team scooter Posted July 21, 2019 Share #3 Posted July 21, 2019 Another lesson learned from the best movie ever. I sometimes used 1060 W Addison as my home address too.

Randomguy Posted July 21, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted July 21, 2019 I didn’t wait for an answer, I just heated up a fry pan. You know what? It was the best toast I have had. 1
maddmaxx ★ Posted July 21, 2019 Share #7 Posted July 21, 2019 You can toast on the grill as well but you had better be paying attention as seconds matter. Toasted hamburger rolls somewhere between 30 and 45 seconds.

maddmaxx ★ Posted July 22, 2019 Share #11 Posted July 22, 2019 When I was a kid we had a rig that folded over both sides of 2 pieces of bread. It looked like a grate and had a longish handle so that you could make toast over a fire.

12string Posted July 22, 2019 Share #14 Posted July 22, 2019 Our AirBnB in Belmont didn't have a toaster. Butter in a frying pan. Works well, and your toast is already buttered.
2Far ★ Posted July 22, 2019 Share #15 Posted July 22, 2019 Toast it on the stove burner, gas or electric, it doesn't matter. Induction might take a (long) while.

late Posted July 22, 2019 Share #17 Posted July 22, 2019 The gentry would have these great big loaves of bread. They would cut an end, scoop out a little, put a pound of butter in, replace the top, and lean the loaf against the grate of a fireplace. Yum. Real good option in the type of weather you are having on the east coast.

Yeah, you don’t need the fire. It’s just more “steamed” than toasted.
