Flat out poured

here for 10 minutes.  I looked at the intellicast radar image in the storm came into being about 10 miles away and ended about 10 miles in the other direction.  Suddenly the air conditioners are working better.

My kayak had a good bit of water in it by the time I made it back down the lake to where I parked. No danger of it sinking, I was in my fishing kayak. My other kayaks you have to be careful, take on too much rain water and they go right to the bottom.

Last night I kept walking out front to look at the northern sky, which was being frequently illuminated by distant lightning.  The solid dark gray sky would intermittently flicker to reveal odd shaped areas of bright light and comparative black.  The storms were far enough away that I couldn't hear any thunder whatsoever.  It was mesmerizing.

We eventually got some heavy rain, which woke me I think a little after midnight.

We got them Saturday night/Sunday morning. We spent the night at our son’s. Had plans to ride with him yesterday but there was a lot of thunder and lightning in it. We got over 2 inches at home. Must have been noisy because our cat was a little upset when we got home. She doesn’t like storms...

Severe storm last night; we lost power around 8 pm. Power restored at 2:30 am. Lightning hit a power line down the street. Flash flood watch begins at 4 this afternoon through tomorrow morning. Silver lining is that the heat wave will be done until the next one comes along
