Going for a massage

I hope the massage helps.  I used to get them from a chiropractic outfit at the end of their successful work on a hip problem (muscle scar tissue causing pain) and loved it.

Today, I've found that Aspercreme with Lidocaine spray has made a significant difference in the tightness in my trapezius and lower back muscles if I spray it on 1/2 hour before working/exercising.  They also have it in a creme but the spray is easy to apply to my lower back.  It costs $8.88 for 4 oz. at Walmart.  There are store-brand versions for half the price, but I decided to try the brand name first to make sure the meds worked on me since the store-brands might be of lower quality.
