maddmaxx ★ Posted July 22, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 22, 2019 Today on a lark I purchased a package of Margaritaville Cuban Mojo style sausage links. Who am I kidding, they were on a managers special $1.05 for 5 links, get um out of here. At that price I'll try almost anything. Now I need to figure out to do with a sausage link that has a bitolyme along with ghost pepper extract and soy sauce in it. I have no idea what they will taste like or how hot they will be. Game on. 1 1
Further Posted July 22, 2019 Share #2 Posted July 22, 2019 We have a couple small meat markets that make their own sausage, I know all the fat isn't good for me, but it tastes so damn good, and additive free, what can it hurt, occasionally. Holy run on sentence Batman !!!

Today was jalapeno burgers for lunch and home made chicken pot pie ala womax. That's a chicken pot pie filling made her way served over puff pastry. First I'm going to try one link grilled on a hot dog roll........basic taste test. That will determine what to do with the rest.

At that price I'll try I buy stuff like that. Our market has a BBQ section that all the meat is 99 cents a pound. They have steaks, chops, all kinds of chicken, ribs, boneless ribs, and sausage patties. It’s all coated with a red powder. I’m guessing it was getting old and they coated it and marked it down. So far we haven’t died yet. I use a meat thermometer to make sure it’s thoroughly cooked.
Page Turner Posted July 23, 2019 Share #7 Posted July 23, 2019 ...I cut up sausages like that in small pieces and add them to omelettes, tacos, burritos, and pasta dishes. That way if they're really hot, I can use less.

I generally cook sausage that look like brats till they boil and start spitting juice out of the casing.

onbike1939 Posted July 23, 2019 Share #11 Posted July 23, 2019 I do have a weakness for sausages.....and that is despite all the horror stories you hear. My favourites at the moment are "Cumberland" and these are very tasty both hot and cold.

Kzoo Posted July 23, 2019 Share #13 Posted July 23, 2019 WoKoo cut up some breakfast sausage a couple weeks ago and fried it with onion cut just slightly larger than diced size. Sausage cooked with the carmalized onions was great.

maddmaxx ★ Posted July 23, 2019 Author Share #19 Posted July 23, 2019 Only texans would confuse a hot dog for a sausage. It's probably the beans in the chili on the dog. 1
