From North of Charles Village all the way to inner harbor. East to canton and Fells Point are nice enough for dinner/drinks (and Canton has some nice condos in old warehouses). ChrisL Posted July 24, 2019 Share #6 Posted July 24, 2019 We used to get seafood in the Inner Harbor area back in the day. I haven’t been back to Baltimore (other than the airport) since I left the area in the late 80’s. I do remember the areas outside inner harbor were pretty rough. MickinMD ★ Posted July 24, 2019 Share #10 Posted July 24, 2019 I've never been to Jimmy's, but may go after this, although I don't think this was a big local news item. I'll certainly continue to eat crabs: the harvest of them is regulated in Maryland so they're not endangered - in spite of the use-up-the-Bay mentality that used to prevail in Virginia - and, unlike PETA's idiotic belief, crabs do not speak and can't think at a sentient level. Trying to tell Marylanders not to eat crabs is a lost cause from the start. If PETA wants to waste money on such ridiculous billboards and have a spokesman alienate the populace by saying the restaurant should go completely vegan, it's sure to come across as an extremist cult to almost everyone I know.

They have been large and plentiful this season. Best in years and I know not from Texas because they are caught by my family. 2

Further Posted July 25, 2019 Share #22 Posted July 25, 2019 I worked there a bit in the early 70's. It was an honest town. Honestly dangerous. Spent some time in Newark NJ during the same period. Newark had a hometown feel to it once you nearned which bars to go to and which roads to take to them

Armed robbery on the street, mentally ill homeless, drunk college students. Ok, the last bit was me and my friends. But the always scary parts of town were near the hospitals.

Longjohn ★ Posted July 25, 2019 Share #25 Posted July 25, 2019 The area around Petri Paint Company is safe enough for a truck driver from the boonies to sleep in his truck parked on the street and survive. maddmaxx ★ Posted July 25, 2019 Share #28 Posted July 25, 2019 I've only been to Baltimore once. I was there to work on some equipment on the USS Kittywake. The only part of Baltimore that I got to see beyond the drydock area of the shipyard was the infamous "Block". I'm not sure that anyone misses that era.
