groupw Posted September 14, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 14, 2019 It was a nice night. I washed the Miata when I got home. WoW and I were going to a brewery/restaurant that had a jazz band playing. About 2 miles from our house, a young woman did an abrupt left turn in front of us. I had nowhere to go and slid into her. I thought I was going to get it stopped but not quite. At least the airbags didn’t go off! The other driver was cited for failure to yield. A friend saw us and offered us a ride home. We got our other car and went to dinner. The food and band were good. It I didn’t enjoy them much. Probably better for us than if We stayed home, though. WoW’s knees hit the dash. X-rays this morning look ok. Just deep bruises. I’m glad we are ok. I just fear we are going to get screwed over because it’s an older car. I just want it back like it was yesterday. Have a feeling that will be a fight.
Square Wheels Posted September 14, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 14, 2019 That's a drag. It looks cosmetic, hopefully they'll consider repairing it.

groupw Posted September 14, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted September 14, 2019 It's totally fixable. Aside from hood and bumper, looks like the radiator got crunched. It was bubbling. Otherwise the car is intact...

Square Wheels Posted September 14, 2019 Share #8 Posted September 14, 2019 I hope you overcome the pain and suffering you've been experiencing, especially the headaches which are nearly impossible to diagnose, and the psychological trauma you must be suffering each time you drive now. I'm sure a few hundred thousand will ease that pain.

team scooter Posted September 14, 2019 Share #10 Posted September 14, 2019 Yikes! Glad you are both OK. As a fellow red Miata owner and a previous red MGB owner I can relate. People always cut in front of us. And my MGB met its demise the same way. They say people don't notice red cars for some reason.
Ralphie ★ Posted September 14, 2019 Share #11 Posted September 14, 2019 We have had good luck getting a good price for totaled old cars. Of course it is still painful to replace them.
AirwickWithCheese Posted September 14, 2019 Share #12 Posted September 14, 2019 Glad you are ok! This is always my fear while driving the cabriolet. How do you replace the irreplaceable?
jdc2000 Posted September 14, 2019 Share #13 Posted September 14, 2019 Could be time to make a claim for some whiplash if they don't want to pay to fix it.
