Razors Edge ★ Posted September 16, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 16, 2019 On one hand, inventory is temporarily limited to what's on hand. On the other, it may make a sale a higher priority since there are lots of losses when stuff is shut down. Is it a wash and the consumer won't find any real difference either way? Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted September 16, 2019 Share #4 Posted September 16, 2019 49,000 GM employees (UAW) went on strike today. The Teamsters union ( truck drivers) will support them and won’t deliver GM cars and trucks to market. The razor dude is axing the forum if prices on GM products will go up (demand/supply) or go down (demand/supply). My answer is that they won’t, relatively speaking. Labor issues rarely influence demand. Consumers expect the situation will resolve itself over time. There are no shortage of vehicles on the market. One supplier (GM) will have troubles but that will not save you the crap ton of money you may expect.
Longjohn ★ Posted September 17, 2019 Share #5 Posted September 17, 2019 There were pickets at the closed down GM plant in Lordstown, Ohio. I’m sure that’s going to do a lot of good. ?

2Far ★ Posted September 17, 2019 Share #7 Posted September 17, 2019 It depends more on whether it's a labor strike or a cruise missile strike.
Indy Posted September 17, 2019 Share #8 Posted September 17, 2019 They aren't in demand now and dealers already have to much inventory. So should bring prices down as GM doesn't have to pay for a furlough now, the UAW is doing it for free.
