TrentonMakes Posted September 23, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 23, 2019 I don't know what people think of him in other parts of the world, but in NJ/Philadelphia he's damn near a saint. What say ye? I wouldn't go so far as to beatify the guy, but I would say I enjoy his brand of poetic rock.
AirwickWithCheese Posted September 23, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 23, 2019 The dream would be to see him perform this song at Asbury Park. You could also buy me a large vanilla cone as we strolled on the boardwalk. 1
Zealot Posted September 23, 2019 Share #3 Posted September 23, 2019 I’ve enjoyed his music over the years. My generation’s era is drawing to a close, @TrentonMakes. It makes me wonder about the future artists.
TrentonMakes Posted September 23, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted September 23, 2019 Our local indie/public radio station is playing their Top 70 Bruce songs today. I have been thinking about what my top 10 Bruce songs would be, because I can't resist a list. "Sandy" would surely make that list.
Wilbur ★ Posted September 23, 2019 Share #5 Posted September 23, 2019 I think he has a very negative view of the USA. 1 1
TrentonMakes Posted September 23, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted September 23, 2019 I also did not realize until today that he has never had a #1 song. "Dancing In The Dark" from Born In The USA reached #2.
ChrisL Posted September 23, 2019 Share #7 Posted September 23, 2019 I think he’s popular out west with the over 40 (shit maybe over 50) crowd but he’s not really relevant anymore. I didn’t care for 70’s Boss but I liked a lot of songs from the 80’s & 90’s.
jsharr ★ Posted September 23, 2019 Share #8 Posted September 23, 2019 Early Bruce Springsteen is some awesome stuff. His lyrics could stand as poetry.

He sucks and his music is objectively terrible. People who like his music have horrible taste in music and should be exported to Canada or New Jersey. Springsteen is an asshat. I loved their video as an over-hormone charged teen. WMMR and WYSP were grand. I definitely miss radio like we had it back then.
Ltdskilz Posted September 25, 2019 Share #24 Posted September 25, 2019 I lost my collection of '70s Springsteen cassettes I copied off the radio when they'd do Midnight Albums straight through on the old KLOL. Insurance guys wouldn't let me back on the boat after the Captain wrecked us on the jetties when us working stiffs were sleeping. But we move on. I've moved on from the Boss too.
