petitepedal ★ Posted October 21, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 21, 2019 Knowing that it would cook down I probably had almost 2 cups of chopped cabbage in the pan Yum...I could have more. 1
TrentonMakes Posted October 22, 2019 Share #2 Posted October 22, 2019 I did half of a 3-pound cabbage the other night, to accompany our dinner of kielbasa and [homemade] pierogi. I think my Grandma woulda been proud. 1

smudge ★ Posted October 22, 2019 Share #6 Posted October 22, 2019 So how do you sautee your cabbage? @petitepedal @TrentonMakes
petitepedal ★ Posted October 22, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted October 22, 2019 Just a little oil and butter..and salt & pepper. On the side..I woke up about 3:30am with a pain in my chest..just laid there wondering if it was the cabbage or a heart attack...?

Add a few tablespoons of cider vinegar and let that cook down a little, then add a pile of cabbage, a little salt, maybe half a cup of applesauce, a tablespoon or two of brown sugar and some fennel seeds. (I tried using fennel seeds once when I didn't have caraway - fennel is better!)

Dottleshead ★ Posted October 23, 2019 Share #11 Posted October 23, 2019 The smell of cabbage in the halls of the city jail was the most disgusting and effective treatment for never wanting to go back. The food in that place was horrible and the stench was even worse. I always thought cabbage was disgusting and to this day it's correlated with jail. Perfect.
