Sram brakes, then the sound is normal, Shimano might be a problem.

A new bike will solve the problem. Way to go!

They are Sram.  It just sucks to pay a bunch of jack for a new race bike then have your kid ride is "B" bike because he's scared of his new one.

I have Sram brakes on three of my bikes. They work, but they can be loud. I figure the noise helps keep the bears away.

It's a really weird buzz/vibration that you can feel in the bars.  WHen I ride with him and hear it, gives me cause for concern.

Sram recalled some of their brakes. I think it was the Guides. Guiditis they were calling it.

You'd think Sram would just buy some Shimano brakes and copy the design.

There was a recall on my Level TL’s that came on my Anthem.
I hear a lot of hate on SRAM brakes and I had Shimano SLX brakes on my HT and they weren’t any better than my SRAMs.  Never had any road discs tho.

Maybe I just got lucky?

Your kid rides nicer bikes than me. Just a little jealous.

Look at how tiny they are in the photo on the wall.

He rides far nicer bikes than me as well!

:whistle:You should have seen them when I met them, probably 12 years ago.

if I remember right, Emmy was an infant in a carrier and Griffin was a little toddler playing on the kiddie stuff in the mall!

Does junior cross use different gearing than adults?

No.  Triathlon, MTB and cross you can use any gearing you want.  Road is the only discipline that has "junior gearing".

One of his past teammates had a sticker on her bike that said "Junior Gears, No Beers".
