Ralphie ★ Posted November 17, 2019 Share #1 Posted November 17, 2019 It is good shopping music - makes you hustle along and buy, buy, buy, at least if you are a boomer like me.

Kirby Posted November 17, 2019 Share #3 Posted November 17, 2019 I called a store this week, early in the morning, and the hold music was War (played very loudly). That struck me as sort of odd. 1

maddmaxx ★ Posted November 17, 2019 Share #6 Posted November 17, 2019 I thought the inclusion of "ugh" was an appropriate comment on Starr's "war" Ralph. It's prominent right there in the lyrics.

team scooter Posted November 17, 2019 Share #8 Posted November 17, 2019 What does it mean when Rebel Rouser plays in my head every time I'm riding my snowmobile?

Tizeye Posted November 17, 2019 Share #10 Posted November 17, 2019 It means you are in the deep South shopping at Winn Dixie (or Piggly Wiggly). Oh wait, different rebel yell.

MoseySusan Posted November 17, 2019 Share #12 Posted November 17, 2019 It means you’re smack dab in the middle of the big chill, and all that angst you thought would shake the world amounts to nothing but grocery store music. The store where I shop plays 80’s alternative music. I can sing along to my favorites while choosing the milk.

jsharr ★ Posted November 18, 2019 Share #16 Posted November 18, 2019 We are getting old. I just heard Depeche Mode in our building lobby. Icicle Works is part of some investment bank commercial and I am pretty sure I heard HooDoo Gurus or The RaveUps on another commercail recently. Most of the songs are just instrumental, no lyrics, but you can tell what they are.

Sure, ruining Journey wasn't bad enough. You had to go and bastardize David Bowie. Curse you, Muzak!
