If disco had any saving grace, it was Earth Wind and Fire

Recommended Posts

Earth Wind and Fire once appeared at a figure skating show.  They performed live from the stage while the skaters skated to the music on a  sheet of ice in front of the stage.  It was a very odd show because the audience was clearly divided between 1/3 who came to see the skating and had no idea who Earth Wind and Fire were (like my parents), 1/3 who only came for the music and had no idea who was skating around and 1/3 who knew both of them.  It did seem like by the end of the show each group had a bit more appreciation for the other performers.  Even my Mom who was in her mid 70's at the time was dancing along by the end of the show and the elderly music fan sitting behind me was marveling at some of the skating.  It was an odd night, but surprisingly fun.

I'm not sure this band falls into the Disco category as they''ve done lots of things.  But this is pretty darn good.

Kool was kind of fringe disco.

Put on your headphones, sit back with a cup of coffee, and slowly turn up the volume to forget all your troubles for four and a half minutes.

Take a ride though the sky. :nodhead:

My nephew played trumpet with EW&F a few years ago at a New Years performance at one of the casinos. We didn’t see them, but he said it was a great show.
