I do not like driving

I spend about 15+ hours a week in the car part of my weekly commute, not fun.

Yesterday I spent 8 hours driving to and from my sisters for a 1 year old birthday party.  Traffic was ridiculous.

Today brought daughter back to school, just under 4 hours round trip.

Plus quick drives to OTF yesterday and yoga this morning.

It has been a long weekend, back to my regular 15+ hours tomorrow.  Lots more if we get any snow, this is New England, and everyone loses their mind as if it's their first time driving in the snow.

Yes, I plan to retire somewhere where it doesn't take me 2 hours to drive 25 miles.

Retirement is about 15 years away.

As much as I love SoCal this is so much us.  20 minutes and a dozen traffic lights to drive 1.5 miles to the grocery store.  It’s maddening.

Fortunately my current work commute is opposite traffic so it’s an easy  20 minute drive but like you I drove 2.5-3 hours a day commuting 40 miles for ages.

This makes my 30 minutes in the car per week feel like a cakewalk.

You need to find a better way to get places. Bikes and/or mass transit might be your best option. I find working from home is ideal.
