Popular Post Dirtyhip Posted December 13, 2019 Popular Post Share #1 Posted December 13, 2019 Planning on making a house for my friend's kid. I am doing a simple design, barn style. I'll buy some candy to take for them to create. Should be fun. I did the same for their eldest child, who is now a teen. The little one is about the same age that I created one last time. I am most looking forward to making the trees and decorating with candy. This is a ton of work. Should take me all day to create and put together. Kids like this kind of thing. Happy Happy Holidays.
ChrisL Posted December 13, 2019 Share #2 Posted December 13, 2019 If I swing by there I’ll post it but there was a ginger bread house contest within one of our department. Most were really well done. One however cracked me up as it had 2 walls up and numerous sheets of square gingerbread stacked up to the side of it. Next to that were some small Tonka construction vehicles and a sign “Construction Zone”. 1
shootingstar Posted December 13, 2019 Share #3 Posted December 13, 2019 Some ideas for creativity. you could go bananas: https://cyclewriteblog.wordpress.com/2019/12/01/christmas-snow-beauty-whimsy-and-deliciousness/ https://cyclewriteblog.wordpress.com/2016/12/07/gingerbread-dreamscapes-and-christmas-hopes/ https://cyclewriteblog.wordpress.com/2013/12/06/whimisical-dreams-of-christmas-gingerbread-magic/ All part of an annual gingerbread landscape contest in Vancouver.... you don't need to do fondant like some of these cool creations. Maybe the lifesaver candy can be rubber tire tubbing down a snowy hill or water raft for a pool of water.

My brain exploded when I tried to imaine how to do this. Cookie dough like flat surfaces. Maybe mold it when it is hot? I imagine this turning my day into a stress ball.

Dirtyhip Posted December 14, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted December 14, 2019 Fantastic. Wish I could do this with her as well. I would teach her how to make cookie dough and let her destroy my kitchen. LOL
