We're supposed to get 1-2 inches of rain tonight and tomorrow and I expect almost everyone I meet will say that at some point.  I'd expect to hear it at least 10 times tomorrow, if there were that many people at work.

That’s what we had today, you are just getting the leftovers.

Nobody said "at least it's not snow" to me today.  Not a person.  But there were only about 6 people in my department in the office.   And our rain turned to a big thunder storm late evening with hail.  Luckily I was already home before the hail started.

But at least it wasn't snow.

But rain clears away pretty quickly and snow stays around getting dirty and messy for much longer.

Plus 1-2 inches of rain would be approximately 10-20 inches of snow.

You can't make rain angels or a rain man, nor can you have a rainball fight, plus rain doesn't look good.   Winter rain is horrible.

Same thing here, we've had some nights where we got snow but the temps have been above freezing most days.

But, we also have a saying here, "It's too cold to snow," and that kind of cold isn't in the forecast.  If we get a warm January - some years we will get two weeks with highs in the 60's or 70's but don't count on it - I'll take whatever I have to shovel of the sidewalks and car in February to mid-March.

It is way better to get 1-2 inches of snow than the same amount of rain.  Rain sucks.

We got 24+hrs or rain that ended around noon yesterday. I was out riding at 2pm on my road bike.  That doesn't happen after 24hrs of snow.  I also wore shorts and a short sleeve jersey.
