BR46 Posted December 30, 2019 Share #1 Posted December 30, 2019 It's snowing outside so I decided to walk to the library today and do some reading. It's just a short walk and nothing else to do today. There's a few magazines I stop in and read from time to time. Wo46 stops in and checks out movies on the free 5 day rentals.
TrentonMakes Posted December 30, 2019 Share #2 Posted December 30, 2019 Yes. This past year i probably checked out a dozen books, probably that many DVDs, and even a few music CDs. Our daughter checks out books 6-8 at a time... the staff know her pretty well and it helped her to get a PT job shelving books.

Longjohn ★ Posted December 30, 2019 Share #4 Posted December 30, 2019 My kids spent a lot of time in the library when we home schooled. The last time I was in there was about three years ago to attend a Medicare seminar.
Ralphie ★ Posted December 30, 2019 Share #5 Posted December 30, 2019 Yup, I am a regular. Usually have 2-4 books checked oot.
MickinMD ★ Posted December 30, 2019 Share #6 Posted December 30, 2019 I haven't used the library for years, mainly because I'm able to download for free a lot of the books I like and my library usually has lower-level or entry-level books than I want to read on things like stock analysis, history, and science. Scrapr ★ Posted December 30, 2019 Share #7 Posted December 30, 2019 I use the website to download books to my Kindle. I have an account at the "old" house address and one at the official address. They use the same platform to check out/download books. So if one has a wait time I'll go over to the other & check. @Kzoo they have audio books also. dinneR ★ Posted December 30, 2019 Share #9 Posted December 30, 2019 I have 7 books checked out at the moment. I usually have some records checked out too. I use the digital materials every now and then. I think I have to albums checked out on hoopla. I use Kanopy quite a bit. I like the Great Courses. My library hosts a lot of events that I attend as well. I heard Alex Honnold and Susan Orlean give talks. The Story Slam is pretty damn cool so I go to that a few times a year. Kirby ★ Posted December 30, 2019 Share #10 Posted December 30, 2019 Not really, but I got a library card a few years ago. - mainly for access to their online digital periodicals. But their selection isn't as good as the ones I get from a different service, so I haven't used it much.

Good, because I hear the library cops are darn near as bad as the phone cops!

I don't have any paid TV service so I use Hoopla and Kanopy to watch tv. Sometimes I check out DVDs. Our library is pretty nice for a small town. There's a fireplace with couches around it.
donkpow Posted December 30, 2019 Share #14 Posted December 30, 2019 FYI, you can score some free toilet paper at the library.

It's just a few blocks from my house (small town everything is a few blocks from my house ) so I go to read the magazine and newspapers instead of paying for them.
Tizeye Posted December 31, 2019 Share #16 Posted December 31, 2019 We were in the library when you posted this. A 3 y/o in the kinds section. TROUBLE Checked out 4 books and two DVD's and had to convince him that was enough...and no we don't need the super big one. Also, he doesn't have a library voice.
