They are nuts for the LOL's, aren't they?

One time when a granddaughter was over here watching TV with nana an ad for the LOL dollhouse came on. The granddaughter said how much she liked those but they are way too expensive. She was right, they are too expensive.

I didn't know there was a Samantha doll.  This thing comes with billions of accessories already.

There is a Samantha doll in there; it’s probably with the instructions. Samantha is tiny to begin with but once you inflate her she is like, full sized. You’ll see.

Be wary of the American Girl vortex.  There are a number of different American Girls, each with a background story.  And each girl comes with a world of expensive merchandise including clothes, related dolls, and assorted merchandise.  There are some books about the girls that are good and some movies that are fine, except they're sort of a gateway drug to the world of American Girl.   The dolls get "retired" every so often creating a beanie baby like frenzy on ebay as people look for the missing items.

The dolls are interesting and their stories are a nice into to different eras of American  history.  Their items also seem to be well made.  My niece had an American Girl doll that she loved for years when she was younger but I don't think she ever got more than the doll and maybe some books.

I am building an American Girl Mega Construx Victorian Manor set.  A friend got it for RO, and we started building it on Sunday.

I must say that I am massively impressed with this thing, there are about a billion pieces and they fit together to form things that are exactly like buildings/rooms on the box.  It is very complex for a gentleman such as myself.  Maybe not complex, but intricate might be a better word.  RO didn't let me get very far and started playing with the human figures on bikes whilst I built the first section.

She showed no interest in the actual building of the mansion, but she is 6 and this says it is for the ages of 8 and up.  I asked her if she wanted to build it with me or just have me build it for her, and she wanted me to build it.  Anyway, it is cool, but takes a while.

The end.

Barbi Benton was an American Mega Girl.
