petitepedal ★ Posted January 1, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 1, 2020 . Just wondering...We drove down at 3am and saved seats to watch the parade. Is this still a thing @jsharr
sheep_herder ★ Posted January 1, 2020 Share #2 Posted January 1, 2020 Last parade was in 2010, and not sure when the big change happened, but it does not have the same allure, since the South West Conference is no longer a major player. Not even sure the SWC even exists.
donkpow Posted January 1, 2020 Share #3 Posted January 1, 2020 The "Cotton Bowl" is still a thing but they call it the "Poly/Cotton Blend Bowl", now 1 1
jsharr ★ Posted January 1, 2020 Share #4 Posted January 1, 2020 The cotton bowl still exists but it is played at the cowboys stadium not at the old cotton bowl at the fairgrounds. Has not been a parade for years that I know of period.

jsharr ★ Posted January 1, 2020 Share #8 Posted January 1, 2020 When we moved back to Dallas from Edmond, Oklahoma, mom took a job as assistant to the president of Medical City Dallas hospital. They were a BIG sponsor of the Cotton Bowl and mom was given tickets on the 50 yard line every year from about 1978 until she retired. We went as a family for quite few years and I would olten get the tickets and take a date. Saw lots of good games. Watched the Aggies beat Auburn and Bo Jackson. Watched Miami destroy Texas, Watched Notre Dame and Joe Montana and so many more. Never went to a single Cotton Bowl Parade that I can remember.

Is this still a thing @jsharr The NHL Winter Classic is being played at the Cotton Bowl stadium today. Not that I can see it, as FIOS and NBC are at war. Razors Edge ★ Posted January 1, 2020 Share #11 Posted January 1, 2020 Used to be most college bowl games had a parade, correct? Is that no longer true? Especially for the "classic" ones like Citrus, Orange, Cotton, Peach, etc..
