Forum Administrator Posted January 5, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 5, 2020 I had to put him down this morning. Don't get too upset. It was for the best. He wasn't doing too well for the last month or so. I'm oddly ok with it. Sad, but ok. Here he is as a puppy. Here he is with my oldest. Here he is stealing his favorite treat.... ice cubes. Airehead ★ Posted January 5, 2020 Share #2 Posted January 5, 2020 I am glad you have found peace with the tough decisions, but I also know losing a companion is hard. I am thinking of you.
bikeman564™ Posted January 5, 2020 Share #3 Posted January 5, 2020 Sorry to hear that, it's never good. A couple I know just got a yellow lab that's now 4mo. old. Such a great doggy.

smudge ★ Posted January 5, 2020 Share #7 Posted January 5, 2020 If you are ok with it, then you have known long enough this is what had to be done. It's never easy, but it's good you are comfortable this was the right thing to do. Sorry for your loss.

It got so bad with Barley that he had a hard time with the two inch step from the kitchen door to the deck.

I am thinking of you. Thank you. When I broke my ankle, he always sat next to me when I was stuck on the couch. Ever since then, he would lay down next to me if I laid down on the couch. It was a little hard today when I laid down and instinctively put my hand on where he would be.
maddmaxx ★ Posted January 5, 2020 Share #10 Posted January 5, 2020 It's unfortunate that our pets have shorter lifespans than we do. It's good that we care for them while we can though. Sorry for your loss FA.
