RIP Barley

I had to put him down this morning. Don't get too upset. It was for the best. He wasn't doing too well for the last month or so.  I'm oddly ok with it.  Sad, but ok.

Here he is as a puppy.

Here he is with my oldest.

Here he is stealing his favorite treat....  ice cubes.

Sorry to hear that, it's never good.  A couple I know just got a yellow lab that's now 4mo. old. Such a great doggy.

Amazing dogs.  I had a black lab also.  Tell them to keep an eye on those hips. It got so bad with Barley that he had a hard time with the two inch step from the kitchen door to the deck.

I am glad you have found peace with the tough decisions, but I also know losing a companion is hard. I am thinking of you.

Thank you. When I broke my ankle, he always sat next to me when I was stuck on the couch.  Ever since then, he would lay down next to me if I laid down on the couch.  It was a little hard today when I laid down and instinctively put my hand on where he would be.
