Popular Post Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted July 4, 2014 Popular Post Share #1 Posted July 4, 2014 Mrs. TK and I took the tandem to the Saratoga National Historical Park, rode the park loop, and then stayed for the reading of the Declaration of Independence. After the reading the park held musketry and cannon demonstrations. This monument, one of my favorites, was near one of the earlier stops on the loop. Did I ever mention how much I dislike birds? Park ranger Joe Craig gave a spirited reading of the Declaration, followed by 13 toasts to independence. The musketry demonstration The presentation on the duties of each member of the cannon crew Loading the cannon And BOOM! My reaction to the sound of the firing was quick enough to catch some of the flame spouting from the mouth of the cannon. I really do enjoy the sound of a good cannon going off!
