Fading rock stars

I got all excited because I saw that Garbage is doing a tour this year, but then I watched a 2019 concert on YouTube and found that Shirley has faded since the last ones I saw from 2012 and 2015.  So now I am conflicted. I’d love to see them, but it will be depressing if Shirley is snot her usual old self. The guitar guys still have it though. I’ll probably go anyhoo.

So have you ever had that experience?  She hung in there for a few decades at least.

One more reason that I am so amazed by Richard Thompson. He still kicks ass in his 70s, both on guitar and singing.

We catch several of the concerts at our county fair.  The concerts are generally bands long past their prime but we go with low expectations.   Some have been really good, Pat Benetar stands out. Most have been mediocre at best.

I remember seeing UB 40 recently and saying, whoah Ali got old and fat. WOChrisL, so did you!  Damn your right...

For New Year's Eve this year, I watched on tv, Bryan Adams perform on stage outdoors...he still looks pretty good.  Methinks living in Vancouver area gives lotsa opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. :)   He is a cyclist ..since he knows the bike store owner up the road from home.

I'm not necessarily a fan at all of any star.  Just wanted to see the Eve celebrations on tv across Canada.
