Adios Windows 7!

Recommended Posts

You were no Win XP nor Win 10, but you definitely were better than Vista or 8!

Low bar indeed!  I am amazed I never smashed the windows 8 laptop!  And I am a patient guy!

And I was stuck with vista before that!  Grrr!

And Millennium before that!

And an early version of xp that got wiped oot somehow, despite having antivirus on it.

I don't know, I would put Windows 7 up there.  I used it for a long time and never had an issue with it.  I always found it stable and easy to use myself.

Though I am impressed how well my old laptop runs on Windows 10.

Windows 8 was an abomination.

Still on 7 at work.

I wonder what version @Kzoo recommends. He likes to live dangerously.

I have it as XP at the top (my sentimental favorite) then Win 10, then Win 7, then maybe flavors of NT (which I used at work but not at home) and then the rest are down the list a distance like 8/8.1 (which I barely used), and Millenium or Vista.  98 was fine for back then, and 95 or the 3.1 Win were all at least "revolutionary" in a fast evolving world.

That said, I would not run ANYTHING (in the Windows world) except Win 10 nowadays.

Windows 7 Pro was 'da bomb'. Windows 7 Home Premium was 'da boom'.

I had the most problems with Win '98 and 8.

I thought I was so cool to be running 3.1 before everyone else.  Some people just refused to make that leap.  A mouse click to open files?!

I have an XP machine at home.  I really should kill it, but it's got a ton of audio recording and mixing stuff on it

Windows 8 is what pushed me to Apple.

I had a Windows 7 that could not be updated, I was able to unload that on some poor sap.

With the malware still working, I hope! Now that security patches are a thing of the past, that ticking time bomb will be a blast to own!
