Further Posted January 14, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2020 Nice guy, he went over the results from the stress test I took a while back and told me that they were borderline abnormal, and that that stress test is only 70% accurate, given my activity levels and lack of any other symptoms he wouldn't be concerned, but, my high blood pressure and family history have him wanting a imaging stress test. Despite the run on sentence I have to agree with him. However my insurance co. makes the decision

I think my heart was damaged when I had the hernia surgery. It still works pretty good for an old man.

MickinMD ★ Posted January 14, 2020 Share #5 Posted January 14, 2020 For me, the extra heart tests left me worry-free when I was doing strenuous stuff. I was tremendously out of shape in 2011 and decided to get a bicycle and start riding for exercise - my Achilles tendons would get sore from 1.5 miles of walking. I showed my family doctor a Garmin/Google maps red-line summary of a 1 mile walk where my heart rate surpassed 90% of max. going up a long hill. He sent me to a cardiologist who did three different tests: the treadmill test, a radioactive dye study, and am imaging study of my heart valves. I was told I was fine and when I began doing hills with the bike, I wasn't worried when the ride got tough. The bike helped heal the Achilles tendons, which has suffered from decades of long distance running, including an operation for a torn tendon and phyiscal therapy for the other one.
