Popular Post BR46 Posted January 14, 2020 Popular Post Share #1 Posted January 14, 2020 Rumor was that we have two Bald Eagles nesting in the area. I see this guy sitting in the tree near my house. Sorry about the photo quality it was the best I could do with my phone on short notice. 5

Hopefully the Eagles will chase the geese out of the area. We live about 500 feet from the river and there has to be about 500+ gease in the river and in the park that nobody wants to walk through because of all of goose shit on the ground. When I rode the Erie Canal out of Buffalo the trail was covered with goose poo. They tell you to be careful, goose poo is very slippery. 1
MickinMD ★ Posted January 14, 2020 Share #5 Posted January 14, 2020 Cool. I made a connection with a distant cousin in Juneau when we went on an Alaska Cruise. She met us and took us various places. When we were at the Mendenhall Glacier, she pointed to the trees to our left and said, "When we were kids, we used to hang out where those Bald Eagles are when we hooked school." She was amazed at how excited we were to see Bald Eagles! They are rare in Maryland.

BR46 Posted January 15, 2020 Author Share #8 Posted January 15, 2020 I always wanted to go to the spot in Wisconsin along the Mississippi River where the Bald Eagles hang out in the winter. 1
team scooter Posted January 15, 2020 Share #9 Posted January 15, 2020 We have at least one nearby. The first time I saw it, I thought it was a small kid with a white cap sitting out on the thin lake ice.
Guest Posted January 15, 2020 Share #10 Posted January 15, 2020 There was a local picture last week of 29 eagles in a field feeding on some deer carcasses that had been thrown there. Seems we see more of them every year.
JerrySTL ★ Posted January 15, 2020 Share #11 Posted January 15, 2020 There's hundreds of them around here especially near the Mississippi are Missouri rivers. I once had two of them fly about 50 feet over my head while I was riding.

shootingstar Posted January 15, 2020 Share #13 Posted January 15, 2020 There is a provincial km. just 30 km. or so north of North Vancouver to see these great birds. We went there: https://cyclewriteblog.wordpress.com/2017/01/01/bald-eagle-in-wilderness-in-our-neighbourhood-brackendale-eagles-provincial-park-and-vancouver/ Yes, an iconic shot that blends First Nations art.....and real ones: https://cyclewriteblog.wordpress.com/2015/09/21/bald-eagle-fierce-majesty-at-attention/
