Razors Edge Posted February 7, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 7, 2020 ...it sounded like my house was going through a very aggressive car wash! The wind was driving the rain very hard against our windows. This would definitely have been a full blown blizzard had the temps been 30o lower. Longjohn Posted February 7, 2020 Share #2 Posted February 7, 2020 I was up at 4am and looked outside to see how much snow we had, nothing. When the sun came up I looked out again to see a winter wonderland. It must have came down hard for a couple hours. It’s supposed to keep snowing all weekend. Airehead Posted February 7, 2020 Share #3 Posted February 7, 2020 We had ice at 4:30. Snow by 5. Moment by moment decision about whether or not to close schools. Ended up closing weather is supposed to get worse moment by moment.

Yep - the radar shows snow to our north and northwest. It was a LOT of rain.

None of this dithering over should we or shouldn't we nonsense The snowflakes are being rope-a-doped by the snowflakes.

When I was growing up they were not common but when they happened they made our day. 2
Longjohn Posted February 7, 2020 Share #7 Posted February 7, 2020 When we homeschooled our kids we left them decide if they wanted a snow day when the school district had a snow day. They always took the snow day. We had snow sculptures, snow men, forts, sled rides. They took full advantage of the day.
jsharr Posted February 7, 2020 Share #8 Posted February 7, 2020 It was just like that in Dallas except for the clouds and wind and rain. Sunny and low 40s here.
Prophet Zacharia Posted February 7, 2020 Share #9 Posted February 7, 2020 I went in early to beat the morning rush hour. Probably not more than 2” of snow this morning, light traffic at 6 am.
petitepedal Posted February 7, 2020 Share #10 Posted February 7, 2020 We got less than 1/2 an inch..I was optimistic at guessing an inch when I looked outside this morning.
groupw Posted February 7, 2020 Share #11 Posted February 7, 2020 We are supposed to have a chance for a little today, but so far, nothing.
maddmaxx Posted February 7, 2020 Share #12 Posted February 7, 2020 The snow will pass to our northwest and land firmly on northern New England. Here it will be random drowning rain mixed with 40 to 60 mph wind gusts.

Now they cause me great pain and I have never made all the people happy with any decision on a snow day-- not even the blizzard of 2002.

Further Posted February 8, 2020 Share #15 Posted February 8, 2020 I got out of bed and looked out the window at 5:30, snowing lightly ground barely covered. Left the house a few minutes after 6, an inch of wet snow on the road, slicker than snail snot, and coming down hard enough to hamper visibility, low beams only high beams reflected back and blinded me. The Element was a bit squirmy but doing OK. Then the oncoming driver, taking his half of the road right out of the middle. I didn't realize his position till he was too damn close, swerved to avoid him and was sideways on the shoulder for a ways. Got some pucker power going and putted on in to work with no further drama
